About Interactive Chess Learning
Our Mission
Interactive Chess Learning is a free online chess education platform built with one goal: to make learning chess accessible, engaging, and effective for everyone. Whether you have just picked up a chess piece for the first time or you are an experienced player looking to sharpen your grandmaster-level skills, our platform has something valuable to offer.
We believe that the best way to learn chess is by doing — playing, analysing, and replaying moves in an interactive environment. That is why every lesson on this site combines written explanations with live, step-by-step move demonstrations on a real chess board.
What We Offer
♟️ Three Difficulty Levels
From Amateur (perfect for beginners learning the basics) through Intermediate (tactical patterns and positional play) to Experienced (grandmaster techniques and deep calculation), our structured curriculum grows with you.
🤖 AI Opponents
Practice against intelligent AI opponents calibrated to your skill level. Each opponent plays realistic, instructive moves so you can learn from every game. Built-in hints suggest the best move and explain why it is good.
📖 Interactive Move Demonstrations
Every tactical concept — fork, pin, skewer, discovered attack, sacrifice — comes with an animated, step-by-step move replay directly on the board. Click Next to see each move play out, or let auto-play walk you through the full sequence.
🧩 Endgame Puzzles
Our curated puzzle collection covers the most important endgame positions every chess player must know: rook endgames, queen vs. pawn, king opposition, underpromotion, and fortress positions. Each puzzle includes a detailed explanation and solution walkthrough.

Technology
Interactive Chess Learning is built with modern web technologies to ensure a fast, responsive experience on any device. The chess engine uses chess.js for move validation and game logic, and react-chessboard for the interactive board UI. The site is built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel.
The site is entirely free to use. We rely on Google AdSense advertisements to cover hosting and development costs — your support by viewing ads keeps this resource freely available to everyone.
